Postgraduate Programme

1. Master of Clinical Neuropsychology

Programme Objectives

The Master's degree in Clinical Neuropsychology is designed to train students who can work as clinical neuropsychologists, who will be able to assess any kind of neuro-behavioural disorders that would have occurred due to many factors, such as trauma to brain, illnesses, HIV, meningitis, malaria. This programme provides specialised training in basic scientific principles of modem neuropsychology, and application of these principles to understanding a wide variety of neurological disorders. It focus on theories of brain, function, competency in the administrative and   interpretation   of neuropsychological   tests,   neuropsychological intervention and rehabilitation strategies.

The duration is four semesters and a maximum of six semesters in accordance with University regulations.
In the first year, students are required to take eight semester courses i.e., four in each semester.
The programme is a Master's degree by course work, clinical work and dissertation. The duration of the programme is two years. Part I (first year involves course work, clinical placements, as well as preliminary work i developing the research proposal. The second year involves clinical work research, data collection, and writing of the dissertation.
Part II (second year) consists entirely of a dissertation on a top approved by the Board of Studies of the Directorate of Graduate Studies on behalf of Senate. This approval may be given before the candid completes Part I.
